Asari Dokubo Establishes Own University (VIDEO INCLUDED)

The leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Muhajid Asari-Dokubo has joined the swelling rank of private university proprietors with his establishment of a university in the neighbouring Republic of Benin.

Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who already owns a soccer academy in the West African country and another one in Abuja, said the university, which will be known as King Amachree African University, KAAU, had already been accredited to commence degree programmes beginning September 2014.

He told PREMIUM TIMES in an interview in Abuja that the proposed university, named after his ancestor, was a product of his two existing institutions in Benin Republic, namely King Amachree Automobile/ICT Royal Academy and King Amachree Arts Academy. Both of them, he added, currently award Diploma to their students.

Mr. Asari-Dokubo said he chose to establish the institutions in Benin Republic because he does not only live there, but has adopted it as his country. “What we have now, we are awarding only diploma now. “By next September, Insha Allah, the university will start,” Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who dropped out of University of Calabar, he said. “For now we have King Amachree Automobile/ICT Royal Academy and King Amachree Arts Academy. Two of them were merged. We have merged the two of them into king Amachree African University. “King Amachree is my great ancestor. He was king of the Kingdom of new Calabar.”

On his soccer academy, the 50 year old Mr. Asari-Dokubo, an indigene of Rivers State, who refused to be tagged a former militant, said it was established to train the youth in soccer free of charge. “We plan to engage the youths. It is free. We have a soccer academy in Abuja and we have another one in Republic of Benin,” he said. More Nigerians are forced to go to Benin Republic, Ghana, Togo and other neigbhouring countries to acquire education due to the incessant labour disputes and industrial actions within the Nigerian university system as well as the deplorable state of education in the country. Currently, students of both the federal and state universities in Nigeria are at home due to the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, over the refusal of the Federal Government to honour its 2009 agreement with the union.

Other unions within the education sector, including the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, have also embarked on solidarity strike while the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, and Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, are reportedly on the verge of doing towing that path. Students of the over 50 private universities in Nigeria, whose fees can only be afforded the rich, are however, in session. Mr. Asari-Dokubo is, like former Niger Delta militants enjoying massive patronage from the current administration, believe to be very wealthy but his source of income is largely unknown. There were speculation he made his fortune stealing crude oil in the Niger Delta. But he denied engaging in such practices, telling PREMIUM TIMES he had never been part of any act capable of endangering the Delta.

Jonathan Has Already Won 2015 Election , Nothing To Worried About --ASARI DOKUBO

Despite the opposition to the 2015 re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan, Leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has said there is nothing to worry about, that the President has already won.

Dokubo-Asari’s statement is coming at a time opposition to the 2015 presidential ambition of Jonathan by the Alhaji Kawu Baraje-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is on the prowl.
He wondered why Jonathan would be talking and discussing with Governor Sule Lamido’s group whom he called political miscreants, people who do not have political value.

Dokubo-Asari said Lamido and his group were irrelevant to the realization of the president’s ambition, querying: “If Lamido could not deliver Jigawa State to Jonathan in 2011, of what relevance is he in realizing it in 2015?”
Reacting to Lamido’s interview in last week’s Sunday Sun in which the governor said, “Dokubo-Asari is a small boy, his entire clan, I don’t think they are up to one million people. If his entire clan are not up to one million people, you just ignore him,” Dokubo-Asari lampooned Lamido, saying that people like him should not even be listened to at all.

“Jonathan has already won. Whether they vote or they don’t vote, that is their business. He will win and if they like, they should go and hang themselves. For people like Sule Lamido to even be listened to, is very regrettable. This is a man who is living according to his antecedents; a man who rebelled against the greatest Northern political ideologue, Mallam Aminu Kano. These people have never been on the side of their people.
“I would forgive him because Ijaw people are not protesting about scientific census. It is people like Sule Lamido that are protesting that the chairman of the National Population Commission should be sacked. It clearly shows that they have something to hide.

“There is no where in the world where the arid part of the country is more populated. All over the world, population is at the coast. Population centers are at the coast, where there are economic activities. We live in a scientific world. So, when the time comes, he will know. We don’t even need to be 200 people to teach him a lesson and put sand in his mouth

PDP CRISIS (VIDEO) : Asari Dokubo Wants Obasanjo And Atiku Arrested

Asari Dokubo
The leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, has demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his former deputy, Atiku Abubakar, for their alleged role in the raging crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He also asked President Goodluck Jonathan to deal decisively with members of the “New PDP” led by Kawu Baraje, especially the seven governors in its fold, by arresting their associates.

Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who stated this in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Tuesday in Abuja, however, refused to speak about former military president, Ibrahim Babangida, who he said had not taken sides with either the breakaway group or the mainstream PDP led by Bamanga Tukur.

Atiku and the PDP governors of Jigawa, Kano, Sokoto, Kwara, Rivers, Adamawa and Niger States belong to the Baraje faction of the party. They announced the birth of the faction last August 31.

Mr Obasanjo headed the PDP elders team that mediated unsuccessfully in the crisis, though some of the governors are believed to be his political associates.

“’Obasanjo should be arrested and detained, yes and Atiku (Abubakar),” Mr. Asari-Dokubo said. “They are ordinary citizens of this country they are nobody. They are nobody. I don’t know about Babangida, he has not come out to talk about where he belongs.”

The NDPVF leader said there was no need pampering members of the Baraje faction, noting that with their action, they had shown that they were miscreants. According to him, members of the faction fouled of the Electoral Act by setting up a secretariat for a party that was not in existence.

According to him, “Those political miscreants; the president should use a hammer against them. There’s no basis indulging these miscreants; they should be treated as such.

“There’s only one registered PDP known to INEC and Tukur is the chairman of that PDP. For the president to indulge them is a slap on the face of politics. He should have hit them if they go against the law.

“If you set up a secretariat for a party that’s not ready, then they should be arrested and detained. There’s no party called new PDP. They should be treated as a lawbreaker.”

Reminded of the constitutional immunity of the governors from arrest, Mr. Asari-Dokubo said, “(Since) the governors enjoy immunity, they should pick people around them, then they will know.”

He described the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi as “a traitor” even as he alleged that Mr. Jonathan was shielding the governor by his frequent visits to Rivers State.

“Amaechi is a traitor to all people, traitor to the interest of all members of the South-South and the South-East. He should be treated like a traitor.

“The President is shielding Amaechi; he is not fighting him, if not he shouldn’t be coming to Port Harcourt every day.”

Nigeria Will Boil And There Will Be BloodShed If Jonathan Loses 2015 Election - ASARI DOKUBO

Asari Dokubo
Former militant and leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, on Sunday declared that President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential ambition in 2015 was already settled, as his Niger Delta compatriots would not succumb to any force opposed to its full actualization.

There would be blood in the streets if Mr. Jonathan is not reelected president in the 2015 election, the militant leader threatened.

Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who was a guest on a Channels Television programme, Politics Today, monitored in Abuja, said he would register as a full member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to enable him join in the fight to realize the president’s re-election bid.

“The way things are going, there is no sitting on the fence in the battle before us,” Mr. Asari-Dokubo said. “When some people say they have a right to rule and others don’t have, then there is no sitting on the fence. All of us will have to be in the ring and fight. We cannot leave Goodluck (Jonathan) alone.

“My support for Jonathan will be biased, because charity begins at home. Monkey no fine, but im mama like am. Goodluck, na my person. 2015 is already a settled matter. Goodluck Jonathan would be President in 2015.

“Whether they contest or they don’t. If they say the blood of the dogs and the baboons will be soaked in the streets, or salt water in the streets, we will help them in blood in the streets.”

Insisting there was no crisis in the PDP in the wake of the walkout during the recent National Convention by some aggrieved members, led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and seven governors, Mr. Asari-Dokubo said the exit of seven out of 23 governors elected on PDP ticket was not enough to cause any crisis.

On the role of two former Presidents, Ibrahim Babangida and Olusegun Obasanjo, who are working towards an amicable resolution of the crisis, Asari-Dokubo described the duo, who are also members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the PDP, as “agents provocateur”, who are fueling the crisis by declaring that they do not want Jonathan to run in the 2015 elections.

He accused Messrs Babangida and Obasanjo of secretly encouraging the Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido to run for President, with Rivers state governor, Chubuike Amaechi as his deputy, adding that at one recent public function, Mr. Babangida had said that Mr. Amaechi and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, were good to run for higher offices come 2015.

He described the Rivers state governor as “a traitor to the collective aspirations of the people of Rivers State,” saying whatever situation the governor is facing he deserved it, as there was no better way a traitor could be treated by Rivers people.

On the intervention of the National Assembly in the crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly, the militant leader criticized the decision to take over the legislative functions of the Assembly, saying the lawmaker lacked the moral high ground to have done so, since they were unable to take a similar action when they were embroiled in corruption charges a few years ago.

Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who claimed he was a card-carrying member and major financial of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) until December 27, 2010, said he would be joining the PDP to enable him join in fighting for President Jonathan’s candidacy from  the inside.

Ruling out any possibility of running for any office in 2015, he said his focus for now was on getting the Mr. Jonathan’s reelection project delivered.

“I will declare for the PDP. We will fight, because in this battle, there is no retreat, no surrender. We will not take any prisoner of war. It will be total battle,” he said.
